Eros Green Card

The Eros Green Card is a cashless payment card that gives readers discounts on the price of the Evening Standard whilst providing them with the opportunity to offset their carbon footprint.

With an Eros Green Card you can offset your carbon footprint at the same time as buying the paper. The Green Card has all the benefits of the classic Eros Card but also enables holders to be more environmentally friendly. Readers set up a monthly direct debit for £5, £7 or £10 depending on their level of household emissions - a proportion of this pays for a Standard every day and the remainder goes to UK and international projects reducing carbon emissions.

Climate Care are the Evening Standard’s chosen partner in the Green Card and were selected because they are world experts in carbon offsetting with over 10 years’ experience, who last year helped more than 500 businesses and 60,000 individuals become more carbon neutral.

Your carbon footprint is the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) caused directly by your consumption of energy. For instance, whenever you drive or fly, or when you use electricity or gas Cos is released. The average person in the UK produces 4.5 tonnes of C02 each year.
