  • Of those surveyed in this section 95% said that it is important for them to stay up to date with the news and they are most likely to fill their appetite for news by reading newspapers, listening to the news broadcasts on the radio, visiting a news website or watching a news bulletin on one of the main TV channels
  • Going online for news, watching a dedicated news channel or watching news clips online are means for staying in touch with the news which has gained popularity amongst panellists over the last year - whilst receiving news updates on their mobile phone has decreased in popularity
  • But in the digital age they’ve also confirmed that newspapers still play as valuable a role as ever, with the majority reporting that it is still the most convenient way to stay in touch with the news and that it offers a depth of coverage you simply can’t get anywhere else
