Launch of "The 1000"Magazine
The Evening Standard is proud to announce the launch of The 1000 magazine a new ground breaking annual glossy publication identifying the 1000 most influential people in London. Designed in the same format as our award winning ES Magazine, The 1000 will be a glossy, perfect bound title containing over 100 pages.
The influential Londoners selected for inclusion in the magazine have been chosen from 20 sectors covering everything from Finance to Food and Sport to Fashion. The lists of names were compiled in stages with a preliminary list initially drawn up by our specialist correspondents, editors and writers in their respective categories. Fifty people in each category were then whittled down to ten before one was chosen as the most influential in their field. To give the publication even greater credibility an external panel was consulted at the latter stages of the decision making process. The people chosen as having the greatest influence are those whose decisions and performance affect, directly or indirectly the largest number of people either in their field or, in some cases, the entire city. Unlike rich lists this magazine is based on the opinion of a panel – therefore we are expecting it to spark a multitude of differing reader reactions, and, obviously the advertising has been chosen to reflect this.
The 1000 will be accompanied by a series of editorially led debates and YouGov polls throughout the year which will allow enhanced interaction between the Evening Standard editorial staff and London’s key influentials.
